It’s official! The Extreme Acoustic series is returning to the Musical Instrument Museum – MIM on May 22nd! This one is a special presentation called, Extreme Ensembles. Two quartets, The Local Spirits and Jay Poole and Almost Eleven, take the stage for an evening of instrumental mayhem so good it ought to be against the law! Tickets go on sale to MIM members on March 27th and to the public on April 4th. Mark your calendar and get your seats cause this one will fill up fast!

Sticky: July 27th – Musical Instrument Museum in Phoenix!

Mark on your calendars for Tuesday, July 27th as Extreme Acoustic returns to the Musical Instrument Museum in Phoenix!  The series continues in presenting to the listening audience an exploration into the nuances and intricacies of the acoustic guitar. Listeners get to experience three separate sets of music with a climatic encore at the end. Tickets go on sale Thursday, June 17th at 10:00am.

BILL DUTCHER
Innovative acoustic guitar player Bill Dutcher employs exotic tunings, two-handed tapping, and percussive techniques to keep listeners captivated. In addition to performing full-time in the greater Phoenix area as a solo acoustic artist, Dutcher has also won over audiences nationwide. He often combines unorthodox instruments and various electronics that blend into a unique cocktail of rock, blues, classical, Middle Eastern, and Celtic flavors.

MIKE BREEN
Singer-songwriter and guitarist Mike Breen began his musical career in Chadds Ford, Pennsylvania, playing guitar and singing bluegrass music. Breen moved to Phoenix, where he has performed with many notable groups, including the Barnstormers at the Windmill Dinner Theater and the Red River Opry House Band. He has opened for many headline performers coming through Phoenix and has been a finalist in several songwriter competitions.


AUSTIN DUTCHER
Austin Dutcher’s love for music started at the age of 7. He quickly took to the guitar, bass, and piano and after a few years, the acoustic guitar. In his late teens, he found interest in instrumental acoustic fingerstyle music and pursued emulating the intricate styles of such artists as David Chun, Kotaro Oshio, Sungha Jung, and others who are blazing a new path in acoustic guitar music.
