September Schedule

Hello Folks,

I hope everyone is doing well.  Live shows are starting to come back little by little and it feels great to be performing in front of live crowds again. I’ve put together a small rig that allows me to live-stream the audio from my P.A. system, directly to my Facebook page. The audio quality is superb and you’ll hear all the cool ping-pong delays, reverbs and such. It sounds best with headphones or through a home stereo system. If you go my page and hit the notification button, you’ll get a message of when I live-stream my shows.

I’d like to thank those who have tuned into the live-streams and I appreciate your support and gratitude during these times. I’ve really focused on using this downtime to create and record new material.  I’ve been collaborating with several other players and I’m really excited to be creating new content.  The focus is not about trying to learn a nights worth of music and go play gigs or release an album, but rather write stuff with no boundaries nor restrictions.  The results have been way out of my comfort zone and has pushed me to be a better player and performer.

On another note, I recently received a new acoustic guitar.  My main Lakewood of over 25 years is getting tired and I felt it was time to bring in another voice into the fold.  Don’t get me wrong, my M22 is still running strong.  Yes, it’s beat to hell but it still sings and sounds great.  It’s missing some high-end frequency information, due to the years of damage, but the frequencies that it does speak with work extremely well in a band situation. Plugged in, I can get any sound I need.  It’s just seasoned and broken in perfectly.

The new one is a M32 Custom. I custom designed it here on the Lakewood Guitar CAD Guitar Designer program. Check it out! It has the same body and neck as my M22 but the back and sides are AAA Rosewood and the top is AAA German Spruce. It has a 5mm width bone saddle, jumbo fret wire and two extra carbon-fiber rods installed inside the neck, along with the truss rod.  This extra stiffness helps with all the alternate tunings I do. This guitar is so sensitive and just rings out so loud with long sustain.  I find myself having to alter my picking technique and just lay back and let the guitar do the talking. Fun fact: The top on the one on the right was as white as the one on the left, 26 years ago!
